MECHANICS

Dive into the innovative mechanics of Birthright, a tabletop role-playing game that offers a unique blend of intuitive gameplay and strategic depth. The game masterfully incorporates a diverse range of elements, from dice-based character stats to custom action cards, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience for players of all levels.

At the heart of The Aetherforge System (Birthright's official name for the system), the mechanics are the six standard polyhedral dice, representing the core attributes that define your character: Physical, Agility, Vigor, History, Instinct, and Charm. These dice not only determine your character's inherent abilities but also play a crucial role in basic combat, allowing for dynamic and suspenseful encounters throughout the game.

However, the true strategic depth of Birthright shines during the Paragon—the game's signature event—where players must rely on their cunning and resourcefulness to overcome daunting challenges. In the heat of Paragon combat, players will utilize custom action cards, comprising Attack, Cast, and React, to dictate their actions during each turn. These cards offer a wealth of tactical options, encouraging players to adapt their strategies based on the evolving battlefield and their opponents' moves.
